Jennifer & Matt Goldberg
"Children's is part of our daily lives," says Jennifer Goldberg, whose children Tate and Clara are patients at Seattle Children's Hospital. "The doctors are involved in every decision we make from Tate's treatment to where he goes to school to where we go on vacation. Children's is part of our family." Tate was diagnosed with Primary Immunodeficiency Disorder at two and a half months, a chronic illness with no cure, and Clara has a gastrointestinal disorder. Their extraordinary care led their parents to found the Gift of Immunity Guild to support research on immune disorders. Jennifer and husband Matt also included Children's as a beneficiary in their will. "It was really easy," recounts Jennifer, who serves on the Guild Association Board of Trustees. "Our lawyer asked if we wanted to include any charities. I said, definitely Children's. He took care of all the paperwork and notifying the hospital." "I included Children's in my will because I want the hospital's legacy to continue. The ideals of Anna Clise are really a part of my life," adds Jennifer. "Anna took this really sad event when her son passed away and created this hospital out of nothing. Today it touches so many people's lives. It's a place that offers miracles and hope. I want the hospital to open its doors regardless of their family's ability to pay and to be working to find a cure after I'm gone. We're so lucky to have Children's in our backyard." « BackThis is not professional tax or legal advice. Donors must consult their tax and legal advisors regarding their specific situation. |
